How do sensors connect?

TS10 sensors send measurements directly over cellular (NB-IoT / LTE-M). Coverage is strong almost everywhere. See network coverage.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is local only:

1. Scan nearby sensors and read the QR (serial and PIN).
2. Install or change on-device alert rules.
3. Force one cloud send from the app (Bluetooth Reconnect).

A phone that sees the sensor does not mean the cloud is up. Close other apps that hold a Bluetooth connection. While connected, the sensor barely advertises.

First reading

New sensors stay Offline until the first cellular uplink. That can take one transmission interval. If the sensor is off, open the lid. Press and hold the button for 1 second until the LEDs start to blink. Wait for selftest and a green communication flash. See LED and button.
